Evette Awa
Harvard Business School
Evette's Bio How long have you been doing campus ministry? I've been doing campus ministry for the past 2 years What school(s) do you serve? include non-MBA Serving graduate students at Harvard Law School, Harvard Business School, and Black Graduate Ministry What do you love most about working with MBA students? I enjoy hearing the personal stories from my MBA students in how they feel they are being called by God in their respective fields. In Business School, although students tend to pursue few types of roles, each of their stories are distinct; I truly feel God uses this moment in their lives to shift how what they are doing can give Him glory. Where did you go to school? I graduated with my Masters in International Business from Hult International Business School and have worked in Big Tech for over 12 years. Do you have a favorite book, podcast, or movie? Right now my favorite podcast on my playlist is the Rich Habits podcast, and my favorite 'audio' book is from Streetlights. They have an app where you can listen to the entire Bible and it sounds like you're listening to an audio book/movie! What’s one piece of advice you often give MBA students? One piece of advice that I often give to MBA students is it is not all about the structure...sometimes you have to circle back to your why. You may have the urge to plan events in quantity, but don't neglect the why...if it doesn't bring you back to your mission and purpose, it's just noise.

I have many favorite books: The Lord of the Rings, Mere Christianity, The Reason for God, Every Good Endeavor, To Change the World, etc.. My favorite movie is Hoosiers! What’s one piece of advice you often give MBA students? I encourage MBA students (and all students!) to anchor their life in Christ in the Gospel—deepen and growth their knowledge of the love for God for them in the incarnation, death, and resurrection of Jesus. This will be the stable foundation out of which their life—personal, familial, work, church, etc.—will flow.
